David (he/him/his) is a counseling psychologist licensed in Maryland, Virginia and D.C. I enjoy working with adults to manage depression and anxiety, identifying problematic relational patterns, coming to understand their identities (racial/ethnic, sexuality, and/or gender identities), coping with grief, loss, and trauma, and working with men’s issues. Therapy with LGBTQ couples is another specialty.
Previously, I served on the faculty at the University of Baltimore and West Virginia University. My writing has been published in academic journals including Professional Psychology: Research and Practice, the Journal of Diversity in Higher Education, Training and Educational in Professional Psychology, the Journal of Black Psychology, and the Journal of Homosexuality. In addition to my own scholarship, I serve on the editorial board of the Journal of Black Psychology.
